Their story
The globetrotter Stanley met Hwei Ling at a club in Hong Kong through Hwei Ling’s cousin, who was from the same boarding school as Stanley. The engagement that followed was beautiful; there were excerpts from a book detailing the couple’s relationship with pictures, poems and beautiful quotes, champagne roses, tea candles spelling ‘Marry Me’ and, of course, a ‘yes’ from Hwei Ling.

The venue
Deciding on a small outdoor wedding in cooler weather, the couple picked Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, Chiang Mai, Thailand, for their wedding. The hotel was a mini paradise with over 60 acres of spectacular landscape that included fields, and exotic collection of flora and fauna, amazing architecture, good food and excellent service. The blissful couple and their guests released floating lanterns into the sky for good luck and blessings in true Thai style.

The attire
It took five shops and 15 gowns till Hwei Ling found her perfect gown, which was classy and timeless, but leaning more towards the traditional design. Stanley, on the other hand, opted for an Armani suit in light grey.

We’re made of up 3 very different individuals who are – all rolled in one – creative, motherly, fierce, calm, logical, idealistic, dreamer – the list could go on. But with all the elements mixed in, you have “ONE” awesome planner indeed. Of course, the one trait that all 3 of us posses is being meticulous to the point of being anal and passion. Keep it real, manage expectations (we do the managing) and remember – it is more important to have the perfect mate, then to have the perfect wedding so let the small things slide (like if it rains, dance in the rain because you are marrying the one you love)

Their story
Dexian and Lynette went to the same primary school and shared common friends, but it was only in 2009 when Lynette was working in Hong Kong, and Dexian was there on a holiday that their love blossomed. Dexian proposed to Lynette at a little oceanfront house in Big Sur overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The venue
The couple chose Capella Singapore for its stunning circular ballroom (the only one in Singapore), its gorgeous glass art piece in place of a chandelier, which sits on serene garden of the expansive hotel.

The reception
The wedding – a mix of elegance and fun, adorned with fresh flowers centerpieces of varying heights set on sculpted glassware and accentuated with candles and mirrors – was spectacular. Their guests had loads of fun at the photo-booth set up for fun candid photos.

The music
Lynette, who is a wedding singer, serenaded her guests with a love song. Unbeknownst to the bride, Dexian & Lynette’s parents also prepared performances for the night. Of course, Lynette was delighted by surprise.

The attire
For Lynette, the most enjoyable part of the wedding was shopping for her dress. She found her dream gown at Designer Bridal Room in Hong Kong, which stocked everything from Karl Lagerfeld to Pronovias. The gown, an Annasul Y, had a strapless corset bodice made of wispy layers of crisp white chiffon, fashioned into striking rosettes in strategic places, and extending into a dramatic train. Lynette’s other outfits included a lovely knee-length printed cheongsam from shanghai Tang (for the tea ceremony), and a stunning red Romona Keveza gown with a sweetheart neckline (for the reception). Dexian (a military man) wore his military ceremonial suit for his wedding, and later changed into a wide-lapel, classic black tuxedo by Tom Ford.

Their story
Hailing from Hong Kong, Fiona and Michael met at their first part-time job after graduation. Although they did not immediately date, the couple met occasionally with friends. After several years, Michael told Fiona he had liked her for some time, but was too shy to tell her. Ever since, the couple started building their relationship. On a trip to Tokyo in 2009to celebrate Fiona’s birthday, Michael proposed to her on top of a Ferris wheel.

The venue
The couple’s ceremony and dinner took place at The Mira Hotel in Hong Kong. It was the stylish design of the hotel and its ballroom, with its large crystal chandelier, that impressed the couple.

The theme
The couple’s theme was grand and elegant, with colour palette of silver, pink and purple combined with excellent lightings, which resulted in a romantic ambience and classical music was played during the night.

The attire
Spending more than half a year and visiting more than 50 shops, Fiona could not find her dream gown. One day, she read that Vera Wang had a new collection out, and when she saw one of the dresses, she knew it was her dream gown and went ahead to buy it online. She also changed into several gowns and a cheongsam at the reception dinner.

The DIY
Fiona made several items for the wedding: the invitations for 300guests, her signature book and pen, the car decoration, the aisle runner and gifts for guests. She spent nine months to complete them.
