Yup, that’s right. The world most celebrated and legendary fashion icon, Barbie, is 50 this year!
Apart from the United States, her birthday celebration continues around the globe and Malaysia has not been left out. Mattel, the world’s largest toy importing company, has selected five local designers – Eric Choong, Khoon Hooi, Lewre, Melinda Looi and Tom Abang Saufi – to help in the celebrations.
Masterpieces by the designers will be showcased this Saturday (14/11/09) at the Cafe Stelle, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Models will be featuring their gowns that have a tad of Barbie’s signature look with intricate designs embellished in brilliant Swarovski crystals to celebrate Barbie’s 50th year of everlasting elegance.
