Know Your Fabric

The first thing when it comes to pick your dream wedding gown is to know the type of fabrics that represents the unique you. Whether you want to show off your curves or even have a conventional style on your wedding gown, one thing is for certain — the fabric has to be just right in order for you to look at your best on your Big Day!

Lace
Due to it softness, lace caresses the body in a sensuous way and is best used for body-hugging designs on a slim silhouette.

Chiffon
Light and airy, chiffon is the stuff of romantic dreams. It’s pretty, feminine and great for creating layers over less see-through fabrics like silk and satin.

Organza
Like chiffon, organza is thin, light and transparent but a lot stiffer and holds shapes well. Used for pleating, layering and ruching, organza adds details to an otherwise ordinary gown and gives gowns that romantic feel due to its sheerness.

Tulle
This stiff material is also used as a detailing piece over less see-through fabrics and under ball gowns to pouf it up.

Duchess Satin
This is a common fabric for wedding gowns because it is stiff and lends shape and form to a wedding dress. Choose this if you need structure and volume in your gown.

Brocade
This is the heaviest of fabrics but creates a rich, opulent look. Make a grand entrance with this ornate fabric that is ideal for any gown that requires shape or volume due to its stiff qualities.
