Love coincidentally by AXIOO
2 years ago, Fritz was at the airport lounge waiting for his flight to Bali to attend his friends’ wedding reception. “I was grumbling hard because I had been waiting in the lounge for almost 5 hours due to flight delay. And then it was the first time I saw this girl, coming up the escalator. She was dressed almost all in pink. Without much courage to say hi, we just exchanged glances and parted after the same flight. Then on the evening of my friend’s reception, I saw her again. This time I gathered all my strength and pulled a pick up line to her, in Japanese which I thought she was. To which she replied with a burst of laughter.”
“It was about 4-5 months after we first met. I put the ring discreetly inside her purse and that same night we went for dinner. After dinner, I asked her to get something from inside her purse, and voila. She said yes straight away.”
The venue & theme
“As for the wedding day, we both knew since the beginning that our love for Japan would make a perfect theme for our wedding. So we had Japanese theme incorporated to our wedding in The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jakarta as they had a perfect space for our Japanese theme.”
The couple incorporated many details to the wedding. This includes an imitation snow machine, guest receptionists dressed in Yukata, we even cut the wedding cake using a real size Katana Blade instead of a knife. The hallway going towards the ballroom was also transformed into a Japanese Tea garden, complete with a Bamboo water fountain.
The attire
Nara wore two wedding gowns for the reception. One is a long dress by Tex Saverio, beautifully designed with goose feather ornaments to resemble a Swan Princess. The other one is a shorter dress crossed with a Kimono designed by Stella Rissa. The groom’s suit was tailor made.
Memorable moments
“We want our guests to enjoy the event as much as we do and have fun so we started the food and open bar flowing from 7pm onwards as “typical” Indonesian wedding start at 8:30pm or later. Then we went down the aisle, had our first dance while entering the ballroom, cut the cake with our samurai blade and we enjoyed ourselves mingling in the ballroom, running around, getting photographed with friends and families, drinking shots, getting silly, all the way until midnight. It was fun, full of laughter and joy.”
Note to our readers:
Unleash your imaginations for your dream wedding. Have it the way you want it. Not your parent’s. Afterall, you’re the ones getting married. As long as you don’t plan something offensive during the event. I’m pretty sure they will go along with it. Tensions will rise during wedding planning stage. This is perfectly normal. Make lots of compromises between the two of your and everything will be just fine. Don’t stress it. Remember, you are planning for a “One Day event” only. This is supposed to be fun!
