OUR COUPLE
Lindsey and John met at a concert in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, where Lindsey was going to college, and have been together since. John comes from an Irish-American family and is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, while Lindsey was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.

“It was love at first site! We didn’t leave each other’s side for the rest of the night and things quickly progressed in the most natural, comfortable, and incredible love we have ever known.”

A PROPOSAL
“It started off as a typical Friday the 13th summer day and we went for an early morning jog where I declared that it was “my day”. Little did I know what was in store. It was date night and John decided to send me on a mini scavenger hunt all around town to places that had significance to the both of us – on foot, in my 4-inch heels, alone, and in the 5-o’clock heat. The final destination was home, which he had decorated and had music playing. He walked in behind me as I read my last scavenger card and then got down on one knee and proposed. I said, “Yes” of course; it was a perfect Friday the 13th and very much a surprise!”

THE WEDDING VENUE
The Mint Museum of Art in downtown Charlotte. ” We felt as though it was a great balance of each of our personalities since it has a great mix of art and design to go with the glamour if a downtown venue.”

AMBIANCE
1940′s vintage, in white and hues of pink, ivory and cream. ” We have an old time, classic view of the world and thought this was just perfect. The feathers were a great, cost effective way to spruce up the space and break up all the clean lines which made up the art museum. Not to mention they were just plain fun! We were able to take that feather element of the design and really run with it by adding feather boas to the reception. It turned out to be not only be a great alternative for flowers but also something unique that really made a lasting impression with our guests. The Marilyn Monroe poster was an example of everything falling into place perfectly. It was as though our vintage theme was meant to be!”

ATTIRE
John and his groomsmen kept it classic with cigarcut lapels on black tuxes, bow ties and white saddle shoes. Lindsey went old Hollywood glam in Romona Keveza gown and belt.

THE INSIDE STORY
Set a timetable early and stick to it. “We learned that choosing the big ticket items early will relieve a lot of the stress surrounding the wedding planning and we were able to avoid any major last minute scrambling. The details seemed to come together in a timely fashion as the wedding day approached.”
